Our mission is to foster supportive communities with shared appreciation for the positive impact of skatepark-related action sports. We seek to accomplish our mission by:


1) Helping youth discover the joy and experience the benefits of skatepark-related action sports.

2) Advocating for the creation and utilization of skateparks and other skateable locations.

RIT School of Photographic Arts and Sciences' own Clay Patrick McBride photographed some of the frequent flyers at Friends of the Roc City Skatepark using an early photographic process called wet plate collodion!

“Here, you see all kinds of people mixing together,” Clay said, via Friends of the Roc City Skatepark. “Black, brown, white, asian, straight, queer, young and older folks are chopping it up. These photographs illustrate how inclusive and open-minded the skate community is here in Rochester. Everyone is celebrated at the park and in my work."
